Ending the cycle of poverty begins with investing in children. Providing quality education, where they are taught by well-trained and motivated teachers in classrooms set up with proper learning materials, is one of the most significant investments to make in children and their future. Education is key to ending poverty and increasing a child’s chance at a happy and healthy life. Education is also a human right that leads to social development, gender equality and increased incomes. Yet despite considerable progress, 100 million children still don’t have access to school – and the majority of them are girls.
